Benefits of Spinning

June 24 2017

Sweating through a Fitness First spin class is a great, low-impact way to both burn up calories and tone muscle.

All of our spin classes are intense and hard work, however they're also fun, motivating, mood-boosting and highly effective. Our spin instructors are there every step (or pedal) of the way, encouraging participants to push themselves to the next level.

So, why is spinning so good for your health? The benefits of spinning are vast. Spinning is excellent for burning calories, improving your stamina, increasing your cardio ability, and also toning the muscles in your legs, glutes and core.

Surprisingly, spinning is very low-impact on the knees and ankles, but is extremely effective for building a leaner physique.

Our spinning classes consist of steady-paced cycling intervals mixed with high intensity incline stints, which really raise your heart rate and make you sweat. Though our spin sessions are fast-paced, don’t be put off. If you’re new to spinning and are concerned about keeping up, don’t be – our instructors are nothing but friendly, so will encourage you to do what feels right for you. That said, there’s a strong sense of team spirit, which will have you wanting to push your limits and really challenge yourself – trust us!

With a soundtrack of party tunes, a spin class will benefit your mind as well as your body. The upbeat music will instantly lift your mood, while the release of feel-good endorphins as you cycle will help relieve stress and anxiety.

You can find spinning classes at most Fitness First gyms, where all of sessions are taught by highly-trained instructors. If you’d like to join one of spin classes, simply sign up for a free class pass at your local Fitness First here.
