Finding a workout that works for you can be tricky.

Between new gym jargon and everyone with an Instagram account claiming to know the secrets to fitness, it can be hard to know where to start.

If planning your fitness routine feels like an uphill struggle, go back to basics and take a look at a tried and tested workout class that is still going strong to this day - Legs, Bums and Tums.

WHAT IS LEGS, BUMS & TUMS?

With its popularity taking off in the early 1990s, legs, Bums & Tums has become a household name that still makes an appearance on many gym timetables.

As the name suggests, this workout is based around a number of exercises to specifically target your abdomen and lower body.

The class focuses on toning and developing your muscles, as well as building strength in your lower body and core.

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM LEGS, BUMS & TUMS

Legs, Bums & Tums is set up as a group class environment, which involves being led through each exercise by one of our trained instructors.

Targeting the three main areas of its namesake, Legs, Bums & Tums involves everything from crunches and planks to work your core to squats and lunges for your lower body.

Beginners will simply use their bodyweight for each exercise, however, if you want to push yourself, there’s also the opportunity to incorporate weights and kettlebells for an extra challenge.

WHY ARE PEOPLE STILL SIGNING UP TO LEGS, BUMS & TUMS?

Like any fitness class, Legs, Bums & Tums has evolved with the times, however, it has kept the same core principles throughout the years.

Instructors like to add their own flair to classes to keep things fresh, but the main elements remain constant, which means members know they’re always going to get the same great results when they sign up.

It may seem as simple as working three muscle groups, however, this class has a range of benefits that keep its regulars coming back for more. These benefits include:

  • Strengthening and defining muscles
  • Developing core stability
  • Increasing your stamina and endurance
  • Increasing your flexibility
