40 Days Of Fitness Finale - 5km challenge

March 31 2015

They say that time flies when you’re having fun and it appears that the same rule applies when you’re keeping fit, as this week marks the finale of our 40 Days of Fitness campaign!

DW Fitness Clubs would like to congratulate all of you who have taken part in the 40 Days program and worked hard to get closer to achieving your fitness goals. The challenge has flown by and we have already seen fantastic progress from our members, the bloggers participating and everyone else who has been working hard and completing the fitness challenges everyday.

We hope that the last couple of months have inspired you to want to try and challenge yourself even more. Whether it is by doing a new kind of exercise, improving on your personal best or even swapping an ingredient to make your meals that little bit healthier.

The race is on

The challenge may be coming to an end but that doesn’t mean you need to stop pursuing your love of fitness. The final challenge, taking place on Easter Sunday, is to complete a 5km run.

Although a distance run might sound challenging, you can jog, walk or even dance it and you can choose to do your run anywhere you wish. You can run at the gym, in the park or down your street; pick the Saturday or the Sunday - it really doesn’t matter as long as you are smashing the final challenge.

At DW we love a bit of healthy competition, that’s why we are encouraging our members to race against each other by sharing their time on social media or at their local parkrun. You can sign up for parkruns all over the country, simply register on their website for the location of your choice to be able to take part. And don’t forget to print off your unique barcode to get your time and result at the end! All you have to do then is turn up at 9am on the Saturday morning and run your heart out!

Get social

Don’t worry if you can’t make it to the park though, you can still share your 5km run success with us from wherever you are by using the power of social media.

Simply use the hashtag #FitnessRevolution and let us know what time you start and the time you finish in. Will you even be daring enough to share a post-race face selfie?

And don’t forget this Wednesday we will also be hosting our very last 40 Days of Fitness Twitter chat, so you can garner any additional running tips and last pieces of support before the grand finale. Just add #FitnessRevolution to your tweets from 9pm and get involved in the thriving DW Fitness Clubs Twitter community.
