Welcome to your local DW Fitness gym. Our Thorpe Bay (Southend-on-Sea) gym is located on Bournes Green Chase. With easy access by car and public bus using the Wakering Road stop, our Thorpe Bay gym is perfectly located for your fitness needs.

Getting to our Thorpe Bay gym is easy. We’re just over one mile from Thorpe Esplanade, with easy access by car from anywhere in the city. We’re also a short drive away from Thorpe Hall School, Thorpe Hall Golf Club and Thorpe Bay train station.

Facilties at DW Fitness Thorpe Bay

Newly opened and fully equipped with everything you need for your workout, our Thorpe Bay gym has a great selection of cardio machines, free weights and other workout equipment, as well as a swimming pool and sauna. You’ll find a great variety of high-tech machines in our cardio area, ranging from treadmills to cross trainers, rowing machines and more. Our modern equipment lets you track every aspect of your workout, from calories burned and distance travelled to heart rate, pace and more.

Our Thorpe Bay gym also has a spacious, well-equipped free weights area with dumbbells, barbells and weight plates for athletes of all experience levels. You’ll also find an extensive range of loaded weights, resistance machines and functional training equipment. Athletes and enthusiasts will also appreciate our Olympic lifting platform, which provides plenty of space for deadlifts, cleans and other heavy Olympic and powerlifting movements.

If you prefer to work out with others, you’ll enjoy our wide range of fun, friendly and inclusive group exercise classes. Our group exercise and spin studios host a huge variety of group classes, from Zumba and BodyPump to yoga, circuit training, conditioning and more. We even have luxurious facilities for you to enjoy after your workout. After you finish training, you can improve blood flow and strengthen your immune system in our sauna, recover in our luxurious steam room or improve your muscular recovery in our spa pool.

You can also enjoy a swim in our indoor swimming pool, which has dedicated swimming lanes and hosts aqua aerobics classes and swimming lessons for people of all ability levels. Our Thorpe Bay club has spacious male and female changing and showering areas, with safe and secure lockers for your belongings. We even have on-site physiotherapy clinic, a cafe bar members’ lounge, beautician’s studio and squash courts.

I love pushing people to a level they never thought achievable, by incorporating my favoured style of training which includes hitting pads, circuit style training and full body exercises, I believe training should be challenging but fun. My speciality is building lean muscle (muscle tone), weight loss and improving cardio.
