In Nidra Yoga you will rest comfortably in shavasana (lying on your back) and will be taken through ‘five layers of self’ leaving you with a sense of wholeness. This class is for everyone and is very easy to follow. You will be guided by the voice of the instructor with your eyes closed in a state of complete relaxation. Every class should open you up to an entirely different experience within the meditation. Falling asleep is ok too as you will still receive benefits while the unconscious mind is absorbing the practice. Yoga Nidra promotes deep rest and relaxation that isn’t found in your average mediation practice. The stages of the body scan and breath awareness alone help to calm the nervous system, leading to less stress and better health.
