Step classes

Step classes offer a traditional style of training, with high impact aerobic movements, choreography and exercises based around a step. Work your whole body, elevate your heart rate and improve your coordination with a complete step aerobics class.

From a basic step up and down (like walking up and down stairs) to more complex moves, step classes provide a fantastic cardio workout, while also toning your legs, glutes and core.  Don't worry if you've got two left feet; just follow your instructor and stick with the basic moves until you feel ready to move on.

What are the benefits of a step class?

A step class provides all the benefits of a high-intensity cardio workout. You’ll improve your cardiovascular system, strengthen your muscles and torch calories in the process.

What can I expect from a step class?

Using a step, you’ll follow the movements of your instructor to upbeat music, stepping up, down and around and engaging muscles all over your body. 

How many calories can you burn in a step class?

The amount of calories you’ll burn in a step class is dependent on your build and how intense your workout is.  For example, a low-intensity step class can burn around 400 calories, whereas you could see yourself burning over 600 calories in a high-intensity class.

Do I need to have experience?

You don’t need any previous experience to get involved in a step class. Your instructor will start you off with basic steps to begin with, so you’ll have no trouble keeping up.
