DW Fitness First launched the School Run in June 2018, a nationwide campaign designed to encourage as many schools, parents and families as possible to turn their journey to school into a physical activity.
In partnership with the UK’s 4 national governing bodies for athletics and running (England Athletics, Scottish Athletics, Athletics Northern Ireland and Welsh Athletics), children, parents, schools and athletes across the country joined School Run Week from Monday 25th June, with families running their route to school to highlight the benefits of staying active as a family. Each School Run was led by top Athletes and expert trainers from local DW Fitness First gyms.
The School Run doesn’t end here, there’s still time to get involved and get active with your family. We’ve devised a workout plan specifically aimed at helping families become more active together. The plan is built around a child’s natural behaviour, it allows for their stop start movements and short attention spans providing parents with an easy solution to keeping active whilst incorporating activity together into everyday life.
